Favourite city and why?

My favourite city must be Berlin. Having recently visited with the Node team the city is steeped with history from being a former principality of the Holy Roman Empire, the capital of Prussia, the seat of power during the Third Reich, being divided into East and West during the Cold War and post-unification in 1990 being transformed into a modern, tolerant, cosmopolitan city of avant-garde buildings and cool green spaces like the Tempelhofer Feld.

What do you do in your spare time?

n my spare time, I try to mountain bike as much as possible, my favourite places being the Wyre Forest and the mountains of Wales. I also love to play and support football (Aston Villa fan), enjoy cooking Thai and Indian food, spending time with family, friends and walking my dogs, DIY, tinkering with cars/anything mechanical and growing fruit and veg at my allotment.

Quote to live by:

“In vino veritas”. In wine, there is truth!

Although I do love red wine, especially a good Cote du Rhone, my quote to live by is not that, it’s what I think is referred to as the Golden Rule:

“Do to others as you would have them do unto you”

Treating others like you would expect to be treated, with respect, empathy and understanding has always rung true with me. I aspire to conduct myself in this way both while at work and in my free time.
