2023 gave us the opportunity to share our placemaking skills even more widely. We helped shape and deliver the University of Birmingham’s inaugural postgraduate ‘placemaking in practice’ module, expanding our previous role providing ‘conservation principles’ lectures and an ‘introduction to placemaking’ lecture series for undergraduate geography and planning students. Director Katie Kershaw was appointed to the board of whg (a major Midlands-based social housing provider), with a key aspect of her role the championing of high quality placemaking in new development.
